URUSHI is a plant-derived raw material used for Japanese lacquerware. The sap collected from the trunk of the URUSHI tree is usually used for lacquerware, but, for this candle, we use the fruits of the URUSHI trees harvested in Wajima, a small city in Ishikawa Pref. famous for lacquerware-making, to extract candle wax.
It is a very precious material only manufactured in a small quantity once a year in autumn. The URUSHI candles are sold on first-come-first-served basis; they may be sold out later in the year.
