Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the logistical systems in Japan and worldwide are increasingly slowing down at this moment, and our regular shipping method, Japan Post’s EMS prepaid, is no longer operational.
We have been observing a number of cases in which once-shipped packages via EMS are returned to our logistics center in Yamanashi or seem to be queueing up quite a long time somewhere in Tokyo, etc.
In response to this situation, we have decided to swiftly change our regular shipping method to FedEx International Priority prepaid; our terms and conditions and EXCEL Order Form have been updated accordingly. The new terms and conditions and EXCEL Order Form are available in the dropbox link as always. Please ask our sales and marketing team if you would like to receive the dropbox link anew.
1) FedEx International Economy is suspended by FedEx at this moment, 2) an additional fuel surcharge and a peak special handling fee per shipment in response to the increased demands and reduced flights are applied by FedEx,
we now have a contract with FedEx for volume discounts based on the number of our annual shipments. And, the rates are comparable to EMS in many cases. Smaller packages may be a bit more costly, but larger/heavier packages are pretty reasonable, we would say.
For those “undelivered” packages which have been shipped in March/April via EMS, we will try to re-ship them via FedEx International Priority as soon as they are returned safely to our logistics center in Yamanashi. But, please understand that we may have to invoice you for the difference between the already-paid shipping and handling fees based on EMS and the new fees based on FedEx International Priority.
Also, we are now running a choose-COLLECT-shipment promotion:
For customers who trade with us for the first time and choose
COLLECT shipping as their regular shipping method thereafter, we
give a JPY3,000 * credit code (or an equivalent amount in USD or
EUR). This credit may be used for the next purchase order upon
request within the specified expiry date.
(* Calculated based on our internal exchange rates we set at the beginning of each month, taking up-to-date fluctuations in the money market into account.)
Lastly, please note that our Incoterms is EX-W, YAMANASHI, JAPAN. Damage(s) and/or loss(es) of the package(s) are not covered by the shipping and handling fees you are paying.
As the world is now facing much difficulties, we, the IFJ Tradings team, too are trying our best to stay operational for the good of our customers and end-users all over the world.
In this effort, we would like to announce an update on our line sheets as of today, April 1, 2020 (JST).
As indicated in the first page of our line sheets which you may have at hand, the previous pricing expired as of March 31, 2020 (JST).
Also, we are introducing a series of new items into the new line sheets. These new items will be showcased in this catalog site shortly. You may check the previews of the new items in here.
The new pricing will be applied for all purchase orders received starting from today, April 1, 2020 (JST).
The new line sheets are available in the dropbox link we provide to our customers. The EXCEL Order Form has also been updated accordingly.
Additionally, we have amended our terms and conditions. Among the amendments at this time is the list of makers with approx. 2-week lead-time (please refer to the section 8. Production Lead-time in the terms and conditions):
conte DAIYO Candle FUTAGAMI ** KAMAWANU TENUGUIs mizu-mizu TAKADA TAWASHI Brushes and Brooms TAKAZAWA CANDLE to-mo-ni TOKYO KODO Interior Aroma Incenses TSUDOI Yamasaki Design Works ZIKICO Zirconia Cutlery
As you can see in the above list, the major portion of our products are now deliverable in much shorter lead-times!
Thank you for your attention to and understanding on the above matters.
During these difficult times for everyone in the world, we at IFJ Tradings too are trying our best to stay operational to continue to serve our world community of the industrial crafts makers, buyers, and users.
We sincerely wish for our customers and their families to stay safe at home and to continue to practice what we, the likeminded folks in the world community of the industrial crafts, together can still do to keep the business going. In this endeavor, we would like to introduce a series of new products for building better living.
We will showcase these new products in this catalog site shortly. The new line sheet which will become available as of April 1st will include these new items as well. Please ask our sales and marketing team for further details.
As of February 11, 2020, we have made the following amendments in our Terms and Conditions:
Credit for Choosing TransferWise As Payment Method Thereafter
Calculating Shipping & Handling Fees in Multiple Shipments Automatically Based on Lead-times When Shipping via EMS
Arranging A Single Shipment As A Default for Shipping COLLECT
1. Credit for Choosing TransferWise As Payment Method Thereafter
For customers who trade with us for the first time and choose TransferWise as their regular payment method thereafter, we give a JPY3,000 * credit (or an equivalent amount in USD or EUR) in the corresponding, first invoice.
*Calculated based on our internal exchange rates we set at the beginning of each month, taking up-to-date fluctuations in the money market into account.
2. Calculating Shipping & Handling Fees in Multiple Shipments Automatically Based on Lead-times When Shipping via EMS
For shipping via EMS, if the lead-times of different makers are far apart, we automatically calculate shipping and handling fees in MULTIPLE SHIPMENTS, that is to ship the goods of the makers of shorter lead-times first and then those of longer lead-times later.
3. Arranging A Single Shipment As A Default for Shipping COLLECT
For shipping COLLECT, even if the lead-times of different makers are far apart, we assume a SINGLE SHIPMENT, that is to ship the goods of all the makers at once regardless of their lead-times when every item in the purchase order is ready for shipping. This may not apply when there are goods of the makers with exceptionally longer lead-times in the purchase order. Or, the customer can give us a specific instruction as to the timing of shipments UPON ORDERING. Please note that, when such instruction is notified at later times, we may not be able to comply with them.
