IFJ Tradings partners with nice things. — sample copies now, back-issue sales later this year
We’re excited to share that IFJ Tradings has concluded a partnership with
nice things.—a quietly influential Japanese lifestyle magazine.
To mark the start, we’re including complimentary sample copies
with selected shipments to introduce the magazine’s tone and fit.
- Now: Complimentary sample copies included with
selected shipments (as inventory allows). - Later this year: Japanese-language back issues will be available
through IFJ Tradings channels. - Looking ahead: an English-language quarterly edition is planned by
the publisher; IFJ Tradings will carry it once available.
What nice things. stands for
nice things. was launched to illuminate how people live, make, and care for the things around them—valuing “living one’s own life,” inviting awareness rather than prescribing how to live. Editors visit people in person, often one interview per day, and write in plain words so each voice carries its own rhythm. Tangible objects hold intangible memories; relationships between people, things, craft, and place are the core.

Inside the pages — featured sequences
Morning light, tools within reach, and the rhythm of work—these are the small, durable scenes the magazine pays attention to.
Editors meet people in person—one shop, one maker at a time—so each voice keeps its own rhythm.
From page to shelf, the magazine favors usefulness, calm visuals, and a human scale that welcomes everyday life.
Why this partnership
We’ve long admired how nice things. documents the everyday—materials on a workbench, the way light falls in a workshop, a shopkeeper’s routine. These are the same qualities many of our partners bring to their shelves and projects. By making back issues accessible through IFJ Tradings—and eventually carrying the English-language edition—we hope to encourage cross-pollination across making, retail, and daily life.
