The SUSUMU Mug Cup is part of the SUSUMUYA tea ware collection, created to support everyday enjoyment of Japanese tea. It is designed by OJI Masanori and produced in Arita, Japan.
Form
The mug is based on the straight-sided form of a traditional Japanese teacup, with a handle added for ease of use. This allows the cup to be held comfortably even when it becomes hot, while maintaining the simple presence of a classic tea vessel.
Material & Finish
The mug is made of Arita porcelain. The black finish is achieved without glaze, using carbonized GOSU pigment. With continued daily use, the surface gradually develops a softer sheen and depth.
